Production Processes
The production technology has been purchased from BEFS Technology, France, which is considered one of the best technologies of its kind. In general, an overview of the production process is as follows:
Tank Unit
With a capacity of more than 16 million liters, this unit is essentially used for the storage and inventory management of raw materials and products.

Dehydration and Sludge Removal Unit
In this unit, the water contained in the tar is separated and reduced to as low as one-tenth of one percent. Subsequently, sludge waste and ash are removed using advanced centrifugal systems to the permissible level required for the process.
Primary Distillation Unit
In this unit, the heavy phase of the tar is separated from the oil phase based on flash evaporation. The extensive use of measuring and control instruments enables precise monitoring of the process by engineers and operators.
Oil Distillation Unit
In this unit, after separating the corrosive compounds present in the tar through a three-stage process in distillation columns, the oil phases contained in the tar are separated from one another. One of the valuable products of this unit is naphthalene-containing oil with a purity of approximately 80 percent.

Naphthalene Purification, Flaking and Packaging Unit
The naphthalene oil produced in the Oil Distillation Unit is refined using highly advanced refiners and automatic control technology. After purification to a purity of more than 99.5% and flaking, it is packaged in 25-kilogram bags.

Pitch Granulation and Packaging Unit and Hard Pitch Production Unit
The anode pitch produced in the Pitch Quality Improvement Unit is stored in liquid form in the relevant tanks. To facilitate storage and transportation, it is converted into solid granular pieces in the Pitch Granulation and Packaging Unit. In addition, tar pitch with a softening point higher than 170 degrees Celsius, which has important applications in the refractory industries for specialized uses, is produced, granulated, and then packaged in one-ton bulk bags, or loaded directly onto heavy-duty vehicles for transportation.

Utility Unit
In this unit, steam, cooling water, industrial water, firefighting water, nitrogen, instrument air, and process air are produced and, after being adjusted to the appropriate conditions, supplied to the production units.
Central Control Unit
The refinery's central control system, which operates using modern DCS technology, is installed in this unit. Control specialists use measurement and control instruments to closely monitor the process stages and perform the necessary activities in a timely manner, thereby ensuring the proper progress of the process and the excellent quality of the product.
